Sustaining Hong Kong's living fish farming heritage
守護香港活態魚排養殖文化遺產
Life Jungle works closely with the fisherfolk community of Sok Kwu Wan to sustain and develop Hong Kong's last living fish farming heritage. We support responsible aquaculture practices, promote abalone cultivation as a model of sustainable fisheries, and connect the fishing community with researchers, educators, and the public.

In collaboration with HKU SWIMS, Xiamen University, and S.O.A. HK, Life Jungle conducts seagrass monitoring, reef restoration, and blue carbon research in Sok Kwu Wan waters. We believe conservation must be grounded in science and community action.

Our outdoor education programmes bring students from kindergarten to university onto the fish rafts of Sok Kwu Wan. Curriculum-linked and hands-on, each programme connects marine science, cultural heritage, and sustainability — making conservation personal and memorable.
我們的戶外教育課程帶領幼稚園至大學生走上索罟灣魚排。每個課程均與課程綱要掛鈎，結合海洋科學、文化遺產與可持續發展，讓保育變得切身而難忘。

Life Jungle runs intergenerational programmes that bring elderly fisherfolk and community elders together with young people. We provide companionship, cultural storytelling, and wellbeing activities — ensuring the wisdom of the older generation is heard, recorded, and celebrated.

The fisherfolk traditions of Sok Kwu Wan — from net mending and boat-building to ocean proverbs and festival rituals — are irreplaceable intangible heritage. Life Jungle documents, teaches, and celebrates these traditions through workshops, exhibitions, and community events, ensuring they are passed to the next generation.
索罟灣的漁民傳統——從補網、造船到海洋諺語和節慶儀式——是無可替代的非物質文化遺產。生命叢林透過工作坊、展覽及社區活動，記錄、傳授並慶祝這些傳統，確保它們傳承給下一代。
